Risk of fire: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has taken the unusual step of warning owners of these vehicles to bring them to dealerships IMMEDIATELY to have the cruise control switch systems disconnected. The switches have been linked to engine fires. The switches can cause fires even if the vehicle is turned off. If you experience delays in having the switch disconnected, it would be wise not to park the vehicle in a garage until you have the recall work performed, especially if the garage is connected to a home.  For additional information, call Ford at 1-888-222-2751.
