Motorists find lemon-aid sweet and sour

"A new study of Lemon Law disputes in California found that while some companies were quick to replace lemons or grant refunds, others forced desperate owners to take them to [arbitration], said Rosemary Shahan of the consumer group the CARS Foundation.

Saturn was the most friendly automaker by far, driving only 1 in 2,623 California Saturn owners to fight the company's decision not to replace their lemon, the report said. Saturn was followed at the top by Infiniti, Lexus and Nissan.

Volkswagen was at the bottom of the heap, Shahan said. An 'appalling' 1 in 37 of the state's new Volkswagen owners filed a dispute last year to get their broken-down cars replaced."
